There are so many great locations in Yorkshire to visit for a picnic!

Here are some of our favourite places:

Brimham Rocks

A fabulous place with plenty of sights to see, things to do and importantly a great community seating area. To sit, eat and laugh with friends and family.

The Stray

A majestic space looping around the centre of Harrogate, stretching on and on for miles (1 mile to be exact) get lost in the cherry blossoms and have a great time.

Bolton Abbey

A fantastic area easily accessible with so much to see, if the Abbey and architecture holds an interest for you. This spot will be great for you.

Burnsall Village

Burnsall is a wonderful little village adjacent to a river the the Yorkshire Dales National Park, plenty of smaller spots for you to settle down with those close to you and enjoy a peaceful afternoon.

West Tanfield

If the Dales aren’t your thing then there is a small village outside of Ripon called West Tanfield there’s plenty of amenities and an encapsulating little riverside pub if you don’t fancy making sandwiches and would like some hot food instead.

How to do it?

Without sounding discouraging, picnics don’t have to be complicated. Grab a basket, bag or box to put some of your favourite sandwiches or finger food in, Grab your friends, family and/or neighbours; and go sit in a fabulous location to enjoy some time away.
