Micro plastics

Microplastics are tiny plastic particles (5mm or smaller in diameter). In the last four decades, the amount of these particles has increased significantly in the surface water of many oceans. As a result concerns regarding the potential impact of microplastics in the marine environment has gathered a lot of traction over the past few years. The number of scientific investigations has increased, along with public interest and pressure on politicians and influential people to respond.
