5 streamlining strategies for group projects
5 little strategies to streamline a group project
Analyse the project from start to finish learn everything that needs to be done to achieve the end goal, and breakdown the project into achievable 1-day tasks.
Assign the right person to each task (regardless of department or position)
- if they have the best skills to finish the task efficiently & to the best quality of the group; give the task to them.Set fair due dates for each task - paying attention to leave at least 2-5 days open (dependent on project size) before the project deadline, this will help with motivation & gives you time to polish the work for an extra sense of quality.
Help each other! if a member of the team has time to spare and another is struggling to finish in time, combine resources to finish the job.
Maintain absolute transparency throughout the project so that all team members can see where the goal is & how they collectively are going to reach it.
Remember with group projects it is very important to get a team atmosphere, with an attitude of:
‘we will SUCCEED as a team or FAIL as a team & we will NOT FAIL!
Even in projects with a clearly defined leader, the leader is only ever as good as the team supporting them. Hence, as a leader, using these little strategy points should help to make things easier for everyone.
Have fun & good luck!
