I just want to say how much I learned from you in the workshop you led nearly four years ago now. That was a truly valuable day.
If you’re ever running future sessions for trainers & facilitators – particularly on reviewing techniques – please do let me know. You’re a model of excellence, and I would snap up the opportunity to learn more with you.
The brief was exceptionally well understood by Shirley and her planning and care to progress engaging activities in a meaningful and timely way was excellently executed.
Shirley is the epitome of Professional..with a capital P!! She has a depth of learning and applied knowledge, an ease of knowledge transfer and fun engagement but with an individual attention to detail…what more can be said? As a result of meeting Shirley, I aim to work with her again on schools projects where I can again benefit from her experience and positive attitude.
I first met Shirley and Azesta on a training and development programme for business owners. I was so impressed by her performance that I have subsequently engaged Azesta for a series of projects in both of my companies and have recommended her to several other CEOs. The projects have ranged from vision development to employee engagement to motivation. Shirley has a calm but very focussed and practical approach to her projects, and is able to interact easily and effectively with people at all levels of the organisation and achieves excellent results. I highly recommend Azesta.
Shirley is a fantastic trainer and facilitator who always goes the extra mile to make sure she meets the needs of the individual learner and the organisation. Her style is engaging, fun, interactive and practical: she always follows up, really cares about what she does: a true partner!
I would heartily recommend participation in one of Shirley’s sessions to my colleagues and contacts.
Shirley is an inspiring facilitator and trainer.
I attended a one-day session exploring Metalog training tools, discount ailment and ideas and approaches to experiential learning – Shirley’s own approach was the epitome of effective experiential learning, sildenafil store giving me (and other attendees) food for thought, physician a toolkit of new ideas and a renewed enthusiasm for being more creative with my own teaching and training delivery. The whole day sped by and was energising from start to finish.
I would heartily recommend participation in one of Shirley’s sessions to my colleagues and contacts.
At Ongo we are excited about working with Azesta again to run an exciting leadership and management training programme. We will be launching the programme in April with an away day followed by a series of engaging experience-based modules along with action-learning sets, coaching and job shadowing and much more. The programme has been designed to fit our vision and values and will be very practical and enable our managers to apply the learning back in the workplace. We believe in investing in our staff to make them to best they can possibly be and we know this programme will deliver something unique to Ongo.
I attended Shirley’s Metalog Workshop in March 2014, and it was a fantastic session – packed with learning and new ideas for trainers. I thought I would be attending a Metalog sales pitch / product display – but the session was so much more useful than that!
Shirley shared hugely useful insights about group dynamics, managing team exercises, reviewing and transferring learning and much more. Shirley is a role model for trainers for her means of engaging groups, presenting concepts and helping learners feel like they are discovering rather than “being taught.”
I would strongly recommend Shirley’s Metalog workshops to any trainer who’s curious about new tools and would like to pick up tips and insights from a skilled professional.
I am grateful for your cheerful determination to keep going given the state of our heating. You left us with a lot to think about and we will certainly be taking a different approach to lesson planning as a result. Thank you so much for making the effort to come such a long way and for sharing your brilliant ideas with us.
The session Shirley facilitated really helped the group on both our individual learning needs, our group needs and also to clarify how we can maximise the impact of coaching in the business. Her energy and enthusiasm made a real impact with everyone.
Leeds Fed have worked with Shirley Gaston at Azesta for the last 4 years on a number of programmes. Our intention has been to help Leeds Feds leadership team understand themselves and each other better and in so doing explore ways to become a more effective team. Shirley’s informal style has suited us well, yet at the same time she has a knack of getting to the nub of the issue at hand. Our group discussions, with Shirley in a facilitative role, have always been particularly open and productive. I doubt we would have become the team we are today without her help.
Fantastic course. We came to Azesta as individuals and left thinking and working together as a team
When we wanted to develop the 14 most senior leaders in our business, search and we approached a number of providers to put together a proposal for us. We whittled it down to 5 providers that we invited to come and present to us. Shirley and Andy from Azesta seemed very much in line with our values and approach and we were quickly convinced that they were the right people to develop our leaders. Their approach to learning was very fun, interactive and engaging and we ran a series of 6 modules over 12 months interspersed with reading key texts and action learning sets which they helped us to facilitate. Each module was individually designed for us and delivered in a different location with a combination of thought provoking video, group discussion, experiential exercises, interactive theory and interesting anecdote. Our organisational culture and values were reinforced, learning was fully embedded in the organisation and over the course of the year, each individual made significant progress in their personal development. Several people moved on to other roles, myself to Director and one of our Directors to a Chief Executive role at Hull University which was part of what we had hoped for from the programme. The great things about Azesta are firstly, their complete flexibility in terms of designing exactly what we wanted and adapting and developing during the modules themselves according to our needs and interests, secondly their complete transparency over costs and willingness to attend additional meetings and travel to venues free of charge and thirdly the quality of their delivery which is professional, knowledgeable but at the same time fun!
Shirley’s consultancy expertise and facilitation of a variety of events from assessment days to team days and group activities, added to her refreshing insight and infectious enthusiasm enables her to deliver invaluable productive resources and helps us to achieve our objectives in a positive and timely manner. She really goes the extra mile with her excellent customer service and beneficial knowledge as she’s always on hand to assist in any way that she can.
Connect is continually working to ensure its recruitment selection processes are thorough, robust and give us the best possible chance to appoint the best people. Shirley’s support has been invaluable in helping us to work towards this ideal.
There are not many people as generous or as warm hearted as Shirley nor that many who are as dedicated to the learning and development both of themselves and others. A true explorer in the world of training and somebody with whom I have often worked and always benefited from the experience.
It is rare to find anyone in training and development who really goes the extra mile for clients, focusing on delivering productive outcomes which make the time and investment really worthwhile. Shirley and James Gaston do this because for them it is the natural way to work. They have built a support team who back them up in every area of client support which is often lacking. A wholehearted recommendation from me.
Shirley is running our firms management development training. She along with Larry one of her very knowledgeable training consultants have run group training sessions at our offices with our senior team. The aim of the sessions has been to improve our already good staff engagement scores. The sessions have been focused and beneficial.they have produced great results and equipped our senior team with new skills to manage the people better. I expect that when we run our staff survey again next month that we will have seen a real improvement.
Shilrey is working with our company to improve employee engagement, and develop our teams leadership abilities. Her approach is excellent, and the results to date have been outstanding.
Shirley has the ability to listen to your situation, and develop tailored programmes which challenge a groups current thinking, with well researched and presented arguements.
She is very personable, and incredibly engaging – dont expect to sit at the back of the class and hide in one of Shirleys programmes. Shirley is excellent at getting the best out of any situation!
Azesta, case combines leadership theory and leadership tools & techniques in a stunning North Yorkshire surrounding to deliver a fast paced leadership programme.
The programme delivers a rapid individual and team based learning platform driven by hands on coaching, click decease real-time feedback, and team activities: often outdoors and adrenaline based or scenario based simulations indoors.
Shirley’s workshop was extremely interesting and full of new ideas. I personally benefited greatly from discussions around how the Metalog tools and exercises could be used and any variations that can be applied. I will definitely be putting into practice different ways of doing debriefs; I have always conducted my debriefs in the same manner and it was very refreshing to get a lot of ideas on how many different and memorable ways can be used during training sessions.
Shirley is such a likeable and engaging individual that it would be impossible for someone not to have taken a lot out of the day.
